Project Planner / Scheduler

The Project Planner/Scheduler is responsible for the detailed planning, scheduling, and coordination of all project activities from pre-construction through to project completion. This role ensures that all key milestones are flagged and met, schedules are adhered to, and project resources are optimally allocated.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule Management

  • Develop, manage, and maintain bi-weekly schedules for all ongoing projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and deadlines.
  • Produce long-term programs/plans for multiple projects, ensuring that all deliverables are met within stipulated timeframes.
  • Assign and monitor installation time frames on all projects based on contract works and resource availability

Pre-construction Activities

  • Identify and flag key project milestones early, such as the appointment of subcontractors, anticipated start dates, and resource mobilization.
  • Manage pre-project activities, including preparation and approval of RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements), site inductions, and other compliance documentation.

Pre-construction Activities

  • Monitor and report on crew outputs, ensuring productivity meets planned targets.
  • Regularly track and report on overall project outputs to ensure they align with the original schedule and budget.
  • Utilise collected data to assist in future tendering and project estimation processes.
  • Track and report on project KPIs, providing insight and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

Essentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the engineering or construction industry.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
  • Strong understanding

Essentials

  • Experience in the specialist engineering sector, particularly in large-scale construction projects.
  • Familiarity with BIM processes and tools (Revit, Navisworks).

Skills

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
