Arabic: مدينة مصدر, Madīnat Maṣdar, literally Source City, is an Arcology project in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. At its core it is a planned city, built by Masdar, a subsidiary of Mubadala Development Company, with the majority of seed capital provided by the government of Abu Dhabi.
Designed by the British architectural firm Foster and Partners and engineering and environmental consultancy, Mott MacDonald, the city aims to be zero waste and rely entirely on solar energy and other renewable energy sources. Masdar City is located 17 kilometres (11 mi) east-south-east of the city of Abu Dhabi, beside Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Design Consultation & Site Supervision
Capcon Engineering were contracted to provide a design consultation service for the proposed siphonic rainwater drainage systems across 4 buildings in the city. The contractor also engaged Capcon to carry out training and supervise installation works on the site on a number of occasions in 2011 and 2012.
