Quantity Surveyor / Estimator

Capcon Engineering Ltd is a global specialist in high-performance rainwater roof drainage systems. Our work spans design consultancy, off-site fabrication, and full-service installation across major construction projects including data centres, airports, pharma, commercial and high-tech buildings.

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our expanding Commercial Team. Working within an established team, you will report directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor. In this role, you will help manage project costs from initial calculations to final figures. Your focus will be on minimising project costs, enhancing value for money, and maintaining high quality and standards across our projects.

Direct Report: Commercial Director

Key Relationships: Managing Director / Operations Directors / Commercial

Salary: Competitive

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial aspects of high-value building and engineering projects.

  • Support cost management, procurement and contractor performance assessments.

  • Prepare, collate and manage comprehensive tender documentation packs.

  • Produce accurate cost estimates and carry out details materials take-offs.

  • Liaise confidently with clients from initial inquiries through to final accounts.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3 + years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator is essential.

  • Proven, hands-on experience carrying out detailed take-offs is essential.

  • A level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics is preferred but not required.

  • Proficient in IT systems.

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • High level of self-motivation with the ability to manager your workload.

  • A collaborative mindset with a proven ability to work well within a team.

  • Full-time role with occasional overtime or weekend work as and when required.
